The FirstBet registration form runs as a guided sequence on the betting site, breaking the process into clear stages so you can move through it on either desktop or mobile. This FirstBet registration guide walks you through every step, from your initial signup through to FICA verification and your first deposit, so you can register at FirstBet with confidence.

Before starting your FirstBet signup, make sure you have the following ready. Meeting these requirements upfront makes the registration process faster and avoids issues later when you come to verify your account.

Firstbet Registration Requirements

  • South African mobile number
Used to receive the OTP verification code during signup and to log into your FirstBet account afterwards. Your mobile number becomes your FirstBet username, so it must be active and accessible.

  • Valid email address
The OTP can also be sent to your email address during registration, so a working inbox is required. Use an email address you have ongoing access to, as this is also where account-related communication is sent.

  • South African ID number or passport
FirstBet requires either a South African ID number or a passport number during registration to verify your age and identity. You will be asked to provide one of these on the first registration screen.

  • Age 18+
Online betting in South Africa is restricted to adults. You will be asked to confirm that you are over 18 years of age during Step 2 of the registration process, and your ID or passport details are checked against this requirement.

  • Full name as it appears on your ID
Your first name and surname must match the name on your ID document or passport exactly, as this information is used for FICA verification later.

  • Secure password
Your FirstBet password must be at least 8 characters long and must include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character. Choose a password that cannot be easily guessed.

  • Acceptance of FirstBet terms and conditions
You will be asked to confirm that you accept the FirstBet terms and conditions and privacy policy during Step 2 of the registration process. Both toggles must be activated before you can continue.

FirstBet Single Account Policy

FirstBet permits only one account per customer. Duplicate accounts linked to the same ID number, phone number, email address, payment method, IP address, or household may be suspended, and any bonuses or winnings on those accounts may be forfeited.

Follow these steps to complete your FirstBet registration from start to finish.

Step 1: Open the FirstBet Registration Form

Visit the FirstBet website and click the Join button in the top right corner of the page. The registration form opens as a guided overlay, broken into three clear steps so you always know where you are in the process.

Step 2: Enter Your Personal Information

The first registration screen asks for your personal details. You will need to provide your full name, your South African ID number or passport number, and choose a suitable password.

Your password must be at least 8 characters long and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character. Choose a strong password that cannot be easily guessed.

Once you have entered your details, click the Continue button to move to the next step.

Step 3: Verify Your Mobile Number

The second registration screen asks for your mobile number. This number will be used to receive a one-time pin (OTP) to verify your contact details, and it also becomes your username when you sign into the FirstBet site going forward.

You will then need to confirm that you are over 18 years of age and that you accept the FirstBet terms and conditions and privacy policy by clicking the toggle next to each confirmation. Once both confirmations are in place, click the Continue button to proceed.

Step 4: Enter Your OTP and Create Your Account

The third and final registration screen asks you to enter the OTP you received via your email address or mobile number. Once you have entered the code, click the Create My Account button to complete your FirstBet registration.

You will be signed into the site automatically once your account has been successfully created, and you can begin exploring the betting site straight away.

FirstBet Login

After completing your FirstBet registration, you can log in at any time by clicking the Login button on the top right of the website. Use the mobile number you registered with as your username, along with the password you set during signup.

If you forget your password, use the password recovery option on the login screen to reset your credentials. If you cannot recover your account, contact FirstBet support through the website chat function or by emailing support@firstbet.co.za.

FirstBet Welcome Offer

New customers who complete their FirstBet registration can claim the welcome offer: a 100% first deposit match bonus up to R10,000. The minimum qualifying deposit is R50, and the bonus can be allocated in one of two ways depending on your preference.

Option 1: Bonus Bet

The bonus is allocated as a single bonus bet that can be used on sports, horse racing, or lucky numbers. To qualify, you must wager your first deposit at least 5x at odds of 1.9 or higher (or 1.5 or higher per leg on multiples). Once allocated, the bonus bet must be wagered at least 1x at the same minimum odds. The maximum payout from the bonus bet is 5x its value, and only the profit is paid out as the bonus bet stake falls away.

Option 2: 100 Bonus Spins

The bonus is allocated as 100 bonus spins for use on selected Pragmatic Play bet spins games. To qualify, you must wager your first deposit at least 20x across any reel games in the FirstBet Bet Spins menu. Once allocated, the bonus spins must be wagered at least 1x. The maximum payout from any single bonus spin is capped at R3,000.

How to Claim the FirstBet Welcome Bonus

  1. Complete your FirstBet registration as set out above.
  2. Make a first deposit of R50 or more.
  3. Complete the applicable wagering requirement for your chosen option (5x for the bonus bet or 20x for the bonus spins).
  4. Contact FirstBet support via live chat or email support@firstbet.co.za with the subject “100% First Deposit Match” to claim your bonus.

FirstBet will allocate the bonus within 48 hours of your claim. You have 30 days from your first deposit to meet the wagering requirement, and once allocated the bonus must be used within 7 days. The welcome offer is limited to new customers only, and standard FirstBet terms and conditions apply.

FirstBet FICA Verification

While you can register a FirstBet account in just a few minutes, FICA verification is required before any withdrawals can be processed. FirstBet FICA verification involves two steps: identification and proof of address.

Identification

You will need to submit a copy of your official South African ID or your passport. If you are using the new smart ID card, you must upload copies of both sides of the card.

Proof of Address

You will also need to submit a proof of address document in your name, showing your physical address. The proof of address document cannot be older than three months from the date of submission.

FirstBet accepts the following documents as proof of address:

  • Utility bill (water, electricity, or rates)
  • Bank statement
  • Municipal letter
  • Telephone or cellular account
  • Lease or rental agreement
  • Valid insurance policy
  • Retail store account statement
  • SARS document
  • Vehicle registration document
  • Television license or DSTV account

The easiest option is usually a bank account confirmation or bank statement with the bank’s official electronic stamp.

What to Do if You Do Not Have a Proof of Address

If you do not have a formal proof of address in your name, you can request a Municipal Letter from your local municipality. Visit your nearest Customer Care Centre or municipal walk-in office and request a letter confirming your address. Take your ID with you, and if you are not the homeowner, you may need a lease agreement or a letter from the homeowner confirming you live there. You can also ask your local ward councillor to provide a letter confirming your address, which is often the route used in rural areas.

How to Submit Your FICA Documents

FICA documents can be submitted by uploading them under your profile on the FirstBet website. If you are struggling with the upload process, you can also email your documents to support@firstbet.co.za.

How Long Does FirstBet FICA Verification Take?

FICA verification can take up to 24 hours during busy periods, so allow at least 24 hours before contacting support to follow up on your documents. You will hear back by SMS or email once your documents have been reviewed.

If you run into issues during your FirstBet signup, the problem usually falls into one of a few common categories. Here is how to resolve them.

You Did Not Receive Your OTP

If your OTP does not arrive within a minute or two, check that the mobile number you entered is correct and that your phone has signal. The OTP can be sent via either email or mobile number, so check both inboxes. If the code still does not arrive, request a new OTP from the registration screen, or contact FirstBet support through the website chat function or by emailing support@firstbet.co.za.

Your Password Is Not Being Accepted

FirstBet requires passwords to be at least 8 characters long and to include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character. If your password is being rejected, check that all four requirements are met before trying again.

Your ID or Passport Number Is Not Accepted

If the registration form rejects your ID or passport number, double-check that the digits are entered correctly with no spaces or extra characters. If the issue persists, contact FirstBet support, as the number may already be linked to an existing FirstBet account.

You Cannot Accept the Terms and Conditions

The toggle confirmations for age and terms acceptance must both be activated before you can proceed past Step 2. If the Continue button is greyed out, check that both toggles are switched on.

Your FICA Documents Were Rejected

If your FICA documents are not approved, the most common reasons are an unclear or cropped image, a proof of address older than three months, or a document not in your name. Resubmit clear, full copies of your ID or passport and a current proof of address through your profile or by emailing support@firstbet.co.za. Allow up to 24 hours for the resubmission to be reviewed.

You Are Locked Out of Your Account

If you cannot log in after multiple password attempts, use the password recovery option on the login screen. If recovery does not resolve the issue, contact FirstBet support through the website chat function or by emailing support@firstbet.co.za.

FirstBet registration is a three-step process that takes only a few minutes to complete. Click the Join button on the FirstBet website, enter your personal details and ID or passport number, verify your mobile number with an OTP, and your account is ready to use.

Before you start, make sure you have an active South African mobile number, a valid email address, your ID number or passport number, and a strong password that meets the minimum security requirements. You must be 18 years or older to register.

FICA verification is required before any withdrawals can be processed. You will need a copy of your ID or passport and a proof of address dated within the last three months. Documents can be uploaded through your profile or emailed to support@firstbet.co.za, and verification takes up to 24 hours.

New customers can claim a 100% first deposit match bonus up to R10,000 after registering, with the option to receive the bonus as either a single bonus bet or 100 bonus spins. The minimum qualifying deposit is R50.
